Spot gold surged today, reaching $3,977.19/oz in early trading.
Current levels hover near $3,962.63/oz as investors lock in gains.
Rate‑cut expectations, safe haven demand driving rally
Markets are pricing in ~80%+ odds for Fed cuts in October & December.
Political paralysis in the U.S., a weakening dollar, and central bank buying are also fueling the run.
Goldman upgrades 2026 target, bullish technicals intensify
Goldman Sachs raised its December 2026 gold forecast to $4,900/oz citing ETF inflows and central bank demand.
Analyst sentiment is tilting more bullish as momentum breaks new thresholds.
Market Outlook
With gold now breaking new highs, if inflation reports (PCE, CPI) and economic data remain dovish, I’d expect a push toward $4,000+. On the flip side, the first serious dollar rebound or hawkish shock could pull prices back toward $3,900–$3,920.
